Reading …… ?

Yesterday 19th June was the “Reading Day” in my place. It is remembered as the death anniversary of a famous leader , P.N.Panikkar who spread the lights and colors of reading to the people by establishing libraries.

As reading spreads a lot of information about the unknown world to us and enlighten us with lots of thoughts and ideas I think it to be a very special day.
I like reading very much especially your beautiful blogs with brave pictures.

Reading skills are specific abilities which enable a reader

* to read the written form as meaningful language
* to read anything written with independence, comprehension and fluency, and
* to mentally interact with the message.

all these sounds so formal.....

But reading is noting but resting your minds.......

Hi Susan, I agree.. Reading is SO important. We all need to keep our minds SHARP--especially as we get older (like me). ha

Hope you have a great day.
Hugs,
Betsy

Beautifully put. Reading is wonderful exercise for the mind.
Think I might be quite the dullard if it weren't for words of others who help shape my thoughts.

I love to read! There's nothing like curling up to a good book!

I've been eager to "rest my mind" but unable to read anything until the grandchildren went home. Now I'm trying to catch up on the great writing that is around us in blog world. Thanks for this neat post.

Thanks for stopping by my blog and telling me to keep writing. I read everyday but need to find discipline and time to write everyday.

HI!! Yeah yeah, I know... been gone for long. What?? Looooong, you say?? Agreed. But such is the way it is sometimes!! I'm coming back very soon though...

And yeah, I read somewhere that the average adult (above 90% of the people) who pass out of college after his/her graduation, never reads a complete book, hence it leaves their knowledge obsolete for the present day!! So true!! I'm glad I have a good habit of reading something atleast!! :)

Okie dokie, until later, keep reading, and see you when I see you... :)

I have always enjoyed reading, there are so much that we can learn from the written word. I do feel sorry for those that can not read. Hope you have a nice weekend.
