The great history of Onam!

I have posted in other blogs about the festival going on kerala. It is indeed a great time during onam!

It is celebrated because of the Mavali (one of the kings in old old times). Once there lived a king named mahabali .He was a very generous person. It was said that when he was the king all the people were very honest and I have heard a folklore at school that during his ages we could sleep leaving the door open at night. Then seeing this mahabali being worshipped as any thing the gods thought that he shouldn’t Get all the respect we are supposed to. Then one of the Gods appeared before mahabali as a small boy. Then the boy(vamanan) asked the king whether he could have the land of 3 paces of his foot. Then the king thinking that his footsteps are so small and as he was sooo generous, he agreed. Then the boy began to grow in size , he grew very big and he kept his first foot on the sky, It occupied the whole space that no more of the space was there in the sky. Then he kept his second pace on the Earth the there was no space to keep the third pace, so it was believed that this king bowed his head and said to push him to the hell for his third pace. As the king’s last wish he requested to grand him the right to come to earth every year to see his subjects . Then the vamanan did it, pushing mavali to the hell. That was the end of the story and it is believed that the great king returns to see us during the time of onam every year.

If you just switch on the televisions you could only see mavali and the offers of each ad.

This story was quiet unbelievable and I believe it as a folklore made by people to get a ten days vacation. Today My onam vacation had started, I am in utter confusion how to spend time!

Patience to CREATI V ITY !!

Last Sunday I got some free time. So I thought to complete my stitching work which I had started long before.
This one is the photo of my work I took as my stitching proceeded.

You should have a lot of patience to complete such a work which I lacked a bit.
But at the moment I finished it I was dipped in happiness, exactly at the time I crisscrossed the last stitch.
Finally my work came up like this.

But here I can’t say how much patients my Mom was, she had done a big stitch work just the one given below. It took her almost 3 years to complete it. Quite a long period!!!

All this shows me how patience can win over everything.

CraZy ShOpING !!

I have a very exciting thing to share with you.

A new textile shop called “CHENNAI SILKS” has been set up in my place, Kochi . It is a leading textile group which has started its market right from Chennai and so got its name.

Usually the price of cloths in Chennai is comparatively lesser than in Kochi as the textile weaving is a common occupation in there and thus most of the cloths are made there.

I have gone to “CHENNAI SILKS” shop branch in Chennai. So I thought the new branch set up in Kochi will be also great. Thus I insisted on going shopping to this one…..
When we reached there was a heavy rush of people and cars which resulted in heavy traffic blocks even in the road leading to this place.
Finally I got into the shop even though just through the crowd.
Once I entered the big hall I felt really exhausted. The crowd was so bad that we could even not stand properly as the people are busy selecting their cloths.

The construction of this shop is not fully complete. There were only two proper lifts to go by. But this did not matter the huge crowd. Whether the lift came or not people did not even mean to waist a bit of there time in the shop, all were happy climbing the steps that too in double pace.
While all this crush happing in one side I felt truly compressed and irritated in the crowd.

I some how wanted to get out of it. But that too was not possible due to the heavy rush. People entered the shop just like the water falling from waterfalls. Moreover the shop amazingly looked like just one ,watching the people climb down the steps
I never thought that people would be so crazy behind shopping.

Once you visit here, it will remain as a wonder in you forever !!!

Rain Rain...........

I am sorry for not able to upload for the past days. I was very busy with my studies. Somehow found time to write something interesting.

Yesterday I was coming home from school. It was a pleasant bright evening. All the markets had great sale with people filled in. Crows were flying all around and singing there wonderful song. Cra cra. In a moment I noticed cars fro the opposite direction coming all wet and there wheels running a trail of water. For a moment I was shocked why on such a pleasant daycares coming wet! Then to my surprise I found a great sound of drops of water hitting the bus top. The roads were wet as a lake and all the people had umbrellas in their arms and even people running for shelter. I was sure all these didn’t happen in a second and when I turned back and looked to my surprise found, A line like the International date line which makes the time different in two region. But here it was not time but water. In the correct middle of the market had the rain stopped and we entered in just a few minutes ago. It was indeed a shook for me. I was watching the market what would happen half raining and another half not a drop.

All the people rushed into the ones not raining and got a huge profit where as the other side suffered.

King of PoPPPPP............

Pop icon Michael Jackson, who weaved musical magic with his songs and performances and was called the "ultimate entertainer", died of a heart attack Friday, leaving millions of fans in shock around the globe.

The 50-year-old moonwalking former child star, who became known the world over as the King of Pop, was not breathing when paramedics arrived at his rented home in Los Angeles.

He was taken to the University of California, Los Angeles Medical Centre, where he died at 1.07 p.m. Pacific time Thursday (1.37 a.m. IST Friday).

"I am so very sad and confused with every emotion possible. I am heartbroken for his children who I know were everything to him and for his family. This is such a massive loss on so many levels, words fail me,"

At the time of his death Jackson had been preparing for a 50-concert run in London that was meant to represent his comeback and secure his financial future.

The whole world expressed their grief over his death.
The moon dance unh!! that was so cool. And then the 90's came thats when Michael just went coucou!!"

Jackson was born into fame Aug 29, 1958, in Gary, Indiana, US. He never knew real life. He was five, the youngest member of his family band, the Jackson 5.

It was "Thriller" in 1982 that catapulted him into super stardom. The video for the song "Thriller" was a breakthrough success on MTV and heralded the age of the music video.

But it was in 1983 that Jackson introduced a dance move that will most probably be the defining visual burnished in fans' memories - the moonwalk. That singular dance move could well be the greatest move of all time.

Jackson held eight Guinness records, including most successful entertainer of all time.

Things really started going bad for him in 1993. He scorched headlines for multiple plastic surgeries and increasingly odd behavior.

Despite earning hundreds of millions of dollars he was reported to be $500 million in debt thanks largely to his eccentrically extravagant lifestyle.

Reading …… ?

Yesterday 19th June was the “Reading Day” in my place. It is remembered as the death anniversary of a famous leader , P.N.Panikkar who spread the lights and colors of reading to the people by establishing libraries.

As reading spreads a lot of information about the unknown world to us and enlighten us with lots of thoughts and ideas I think it to be a very special day.
I like reading very much especially your beautiful blogs with brave pictures.

Reading skills are specific abilities which enable a reader

* to read the written form as meaningful language
* to read anything written with independence, comprehension and fluency, and
* to mentally interact with the message.

all these sounds so formal.....

But reading is noting but resting your minds.......

Splash! Splash!

It’s a rainy season in my place. It is soo refreshing to have rains after a long summer.

The rains start all of a sudden. You can notice the sky darken up vary fast and in few minutes you will feel the sun has settled for night even at the noon.

Along with the darkness it brings a cool breeze. This is the best time I would like to go for a walk but it may rain in any moment ….. If it rains in evening it will make you very very lazy.

Once the rain drops down it brings a lot of freshness to you. You can see the tip of trees perfectly clears. It is as if rains are to clean the air and earth.

It makes you calm and peaceful for the rest of day….
This may be how the earth takes her bath……….!

Queen of Hearts …..

Malayalam and English well known writer Kamala Das, also known as Kamala Suraiya, passed away on Sunday 31 May.

Kamala Das, one of the outstanding poets of India, writing in English and Malayalam, was born on March 31, 1934 in Malabar in Kerala. She began writing poetry at an early age. A trailblazer in the Indian English poetry, she is the first Indian woman writing in English who talks about experiences of life. She abandoned the secure field of writing about teenage bloodless, unrequited love.
According to her, poetry is "the April sun squeezed like an orange juice", the heat permeates into the mind of reader. Sensitivity is the strength of her poetry.

Writing under the pen name, 'Madhavikutty', she is one of the foremost short story writers in Malayalam. She was nominated for the Nobel Prize in literature, along literary personalities such as Nadine Gordimer and Doris Lessing. Her widely acclaimed stories include Pakshiyude Maranam, Neypayasam, Thanuppu, and Chandana Marangal.

And thus she became the queen of all hearts….

Mushy Roof ….

I had made a small square garden at the backyard of my house a little long ago.
I had never taken the pain of looking them ever since I had made it.
Today I felt very bored at home so I thought of throwing a glance at
my garden. I was a bit curious to know whether my garden still survived with at least
one little plant .But nothing did ,I understood as I approached . My square
patch was not even visible as it was crowed with grasses of all kinds.
Then suddenly my eyes stuck at something white between the greeny weeds.
Yo !! it was two mushrooms.
I am really fond of mushrooms because they are very soft.
And moreover they were not ordinary found ones in our place. It had a different texture and fairly large.
Can’t you see some brown spots on top of it. Doesn’t it look like some Oats sprinkled on top ?

I went on exploring it by plucking one off.
Then I turned it upside down to see the texture beneath.

Doesn’t it look like many soft flaps arranged together in a circular manner.
Really fascinating of what they look like.
Truly it looks like a mush room which would be very cozy to live in ….

In a Houseboat

Yesterday I had a trilling day with my family. We had gone to Kumarakam for boating in a house boat. Kumarakam is an important tourist center in Kerala (India) exceptionally for backwater cruising in houseboats. I have never gone in a houseboat so I was very trilled to get in to one and to know how it looks inside.
Wow !! it looked like a luxury house inside with bedrooms ,kitchen and well for an open air dining and sitting space. I had never expected for such luxurious things in a boat.
Great it was!!!

At last the boat slowly began to move away from the shore. There were also many houseboats like ours starting the journey. The sceneries we saw in the backwaters were brilliant. They were became even more beautiful with coconut trees as a lining of horizon. There were high tides which kept the boat shaking but it was not felt by any of us.
After the two hours they stopped the boat in the middle of the backwaters for us to have lunch .I ate my lunch very fast that I could go fishing, which I have never done. But to say fishing needs a lot of patience for the fishes were very cunning. My sister also accompanied me with her fishing rod. She was not at all patient thereby lifting the fishing rod in every seconds.
Pew ! and so at last I got a fish .I had a loud scream of joy….he he he .indeed it was a great thing ….
Once again the journey started between the huge stretch of backwaters which was very peaceful and soothing . We did not even see each other in the boat because all were enjoying the charm of nature.
Soon it became dark so that we could not see any thing out . We thought of sleeping and waking the morning early too……so we went to our bedrooms in the houseboat for sleeping. Really charming the night was for the next morning again in the backwaters……………pleasing…..!
I must never forget it ever ……………..!

UummM…. Golden Fruit

Lately we have been to our grandmother’s house. It was great fun in the fields.
So when we were to leave there, our grandfather gave us a great surprise, A lovely large jackfruit. Well, a jackfruit is the largest fruit in the world with lot of spines as it’s cover. Inside it is layers of golden yellow, very bright . It is very sweet and tasty too. Inside those, are its seeds with which we make tasty side dish, it is a very good medicine for cancer. Surprising !!!

When we reached home my mom was busy separating the different layers of the huge fruit. I and my sister was sitting beside her waiting impatiently. This time we were sure not to finish it like the pickle or infact there was tooooooo much to finish up. We had a great fest, our tummy’s full. Jackfruits are tooo big to finish it in a day or maybe two. My mom told that we should not keep it for tomorrow because it may get spoilt. I ate it till my tummy was full with it.

After a bit I became fed up eating so much though I was eager at first.
Only then did my dad’s dad came with a jackfruit which was given to him by one of his friends. He said that those were very ripe and so it is very sweet. He also said not to keep it for tomorrow because it may get over ripen. I was amazed thinking and tensed of how I will be able to have them too as it is a very big fruit. So I thought of giving this one to my one and only little sister and great deal with the neighbors !!!!!!!

So it ended with all happy ……

Butterfly Garden....!!

I was very busy for a few days because my cousins were at home.
We had a lot of fun playing together and today morning we left for the play park close by for making the day more interesting .

The best was that we saw a board before the play park leading to butterfly garden . “BUTTERFLY GARDEN” exclaimed my cousins. they were much curious for the butterflies than the play park .so do I …

Of we lead to the butterfly garden which I have never heard of and sounded strange.
Soon we reached the magnificent garden with climbers as a huge door way. The garden was crowded with colorful flowers and shrubs which was very beautiful. But we were not able to spot much of butterflies except for a few commonly seen variety.

We were disappointed to see that the butterfly garden had everything except butterflies.
Any way we got into the garden squeezing the doorway made of climbers.
Oh my God!! There we saw lots and lots of butterflies flapping close to us.
Where did they all come from ???
We were surprised to see…..!
Only then did we notice that all the butterflies were hiding by the flowers drinking the nectar. Great isn’t it ?

Really a great idea of a live garden……I had a huge thought about how they managed to attract butterflies by providing the essential flower plants.
We all had a loud cry of joy seeing the butterflies…..

My God !! I must admit that this well remain as a great experience in my life for I have not seen anything like this ~ …!!
To see more exciting and beautiful butterflies I saw in the garden visit my nature photo blog

Thrissur Pooram

Thrissur Pooram is the annual temple festival of the town of Thrissur in Kerala, India.
It is one of the most colourful temple festival of Kerala which attracts large masses of devotees and spectators from all parts world and this year I was able to see Thrissur Pooram before my eyes. It was very different and colorful which could make anyone enjoy

Thrissur Pooram is celebrated at the premises of the Vadakkunnathan Temple, situated on a hillock (Thekkinkadu maidan) right in the centre of the city, on the Pooram day in the month of Medom (April-May). This year it was on May 3 & 4.

The most impressive processions are from the Thiruvambadi Sri Krishna Temple and the from Paramekkavu temple. Processions of richly caparisoned elephants accompanied by percussion ensembles from various neighbouring temples culminate at the Vadakumnathan temple. The marvellous as well as magical effect of the Panchavadyam, a combination of five percussion and wind instruments is to be felt and enjoyed.

The pooram festival is well known for the magnificent display of fireworks. The climax of the festival is the exhibition of thirty elephants and the famous fireworks at 2.30 am local time.

Hope you enjoyed this strange festival post.!!!!

custards on my tree!!!!!!!!

When I was small I had planted a custard apple plant in my backyard. Those were my favorite fruits. Today when we (I and my sister) were playing hide and seek, I hid behind the custard tree. I was stock still taking a deep breath. My sisters’ ears are very sharp, she always find me hearing my huffing. I looked around for my sis and oh what did I see, there were about five small custard apples on my tree. It is the first time it is getting fruits. I was overjoyed and gave a yell MOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM, MY CUSTARD TREE GOT FRUITS. Hearing this, my sister came running. What do you think she must have said? I found you! I found you!

Mango mela

This week was mango mela for us. We got mangoes from every where we went. From our neighbors, Grandma, friends and my own dear mango tree.
We didn’t know what to do with all those raw mangoes but filled are tummies with the ripe ones. We didn’t want to wait till they ripe because we got fed up eating the ripe ones.

Then my sister suggested to make mango pickle with it. She loves pickle. No other way to utilize the mangoes and decided to make pickle with it. My mother asked to help her for she can’t manage the pickle herself. My mother asked us to slice the mangoes for her and that was way too boring that eating some along made it much more better.

Then when all the mangoes where sliced my mother put salt and said that we will wait till the mangoes absorb the salt and she left. I was not able to keep myself from eating those salted mangoes that I stole into the kitchen when I found another thief eating the mangoes. It was my sister we both where surprised to see each other in the kitchen.

Anyway I ate till my stomach was full and when my mom came to taste the salted mangoes to her surprise she found the salted mango was half in quantity and knowing it was us she proceeded with the next step that was to pour oil into a vessel and add a few ingredients and chilly powder in it and put the salted mango in it and stir it then we with our tongue watering said that we are going to taste it and ate little every time and when it was dinner time when my mom went to take the pickle . What did she find!!!!!!!The pickle vessel empty!!!!!!!!

Any peacocks peaking by?

Today I had a function to attend in my cousin’s house. They have a large piece of land there. We have heard that peacocks live in those fields and come close to their home frequently. So they have got a huge collection of peacock feathers which they get fallen from the peacock’s body.
So today my uncle told that we ( me, my sister and our cousins) were to go out to the fields and see those peacocks peaking there. It was my wish to see one and now it is going to be true. So we set of together to the fields.

To see those peacocks we had a long journey to go. While I was going down the stone steps I lost my grip and I was on the ground. It did hurt a lot but my mind was badly willing to see those beautiful peacocks that I acted like nothing happened though my leg was aching. We hadn’t gone far when we saw two peacocks and their children peaking worms. I didn’t know how to express my joy and so I exploded
“AT LAST MY DREAM CAME TRUE”

Saying cro cro crou those peacocks Fred for their lives and disappeared in a minute. Everybody looked at me rudely. “Sorry” was the only word which came in my mouth then.
My uncle said. That it was time to leave and we all left disappointed because we were not even able to look at them properly. We left very sadly but was very happy when we found peacock feathers on the way. Each of us took one of them. after we divided I decided that next time when I see peacocks I will keep the quietest.
Or would I be able to?

My leafy zoo

Today I didn’t have anything special to do. Sitting bored I decided to do something different, something very creative.

Then an idea clicked my mind. Why not make an animal zoo with stones. I began to hunt for the correct size stones. I didn’t get them correct .When I found the leaves much more ideal for the animal zoo. So I started collecting the leaves and I thought. What should I inaugurate the zoo with…A Bird .yes a bird would do.

Every time birds sing and fly around. So they are the best celebrities. How is my zoo’s inaugurator? Is she looking smart? Ok now what else…yep a donkey.

Aren’t they smart animals which help us with the load. How is he? Then what else? A little squirrel.

He is my special leaf squirrel. What next? Something rare .A turtle.

Hope he looks like one. Those are the only four leafy animals I want in my zoo. Hope you enjoyed the trip to my leafy zoo.

Vishu

Today it is Vishu in my place.
Vishu is the New Year of Malayalis – it is the astronomical or zodiac New Year in Kerala and is observed on the first day of the Malayalam month of ‘medam.’ Historically the festival is closely associated with the agrarian economy of Kerala – a state is the southern part of India. The highlight of the festival is Vishukani, Vishukaineetam and Vishubhalam. In 2009, the date of Vishu is April 14.

The Vishu day celebrations begin with the ‘Vishukani.’ ‘Vishu Kani’ is the first auspicious thing that people see on the day and this takes place during the Brahma Muhurta or ideally between 0400 hrs and 0600 hrs.

The ‘Vishukani’ is usually prepared on the night before the Vishu day. Immediately on awakening from sleep, people close their eyes and proceed towards the place where Vishukani is placed. This is known as Kani Kanal – kani means ‘that which is seen first.’

Vishukani consists of rice, kasavu mundu (traditional cloth of Kerala), gold, silver, coins, mirror (usually Aranmula Kannadi or mirror with a tail), cucumber, mango, jackfruit, coconut, banana, and Kanikonna (yellow flower known as Indian Laburnum, the first photo). The Vishukani is exhibited in an ‘urali’ – a traditional vessel of Kerala. It is placed in front of an idol or portrait of Lord Krishna. Traditional Kerala lamp is lit near it.

Then, the eldest member in the family gives ‘Vishukaineetam’ to the family members. The Vishukaineetam is usually coins but nowadays people also prefer other expensive gifts. Hindus then worship at nearby Sri Krishna temples.
Vegetarian food, consisting of traditional Kerala fare, is prepared on the day and includes the mouthwatering ‘payasam.’

From an astrological point of view, Vishu is of immense significance. The day and night are of equal duration on the Vishu day (12 hours). ‘Vishubhalam’ or the predictions for the next year is read on the day.

The preparation for next agricultural season begins on the Vishu day. Earlier, farmers used to plough the land on this day and it was referred as ‘Vishupootu.’
It must be noted that Vishu is not the first day in the regional solar calendar followed in Kerala. The Malayalam Calendar begins in Chingam (August).

Now I am again going to my grandfather’s house. I won’t be there in the blogg world for a few days.

Enjoy !!!

Easter on Way

Today I went for Good Friday ceremony at church. It is a very long ceremony which starts from 9am and lasts till 3 or may be 4pm. According to our custom we are not to take any food in the morning as well as in the noon. As a sign of sadness, the church will be made dull by using black colored clothes and moreover the people who participate in the ceremony also wear black or dull colored dress. These things together make us feel dull and sad.

When the ceremony ends food will be provided to all by the church itself. This is a great experience because all the people gathered in the church sit together, talk and have their food. And moreover the food tastes very delicious because of the hunger prevailing. I must say the food tastes very different and yummy!!!!!

Any how I am anxiously waiting for Easter to come like you all.
HAPPY EASTER !!!! for all of you

I am going to my cousin’s home to celebrate this Easter. So I be away for two days
Cheers!!!!

MEeee !!!!!!!!

Since two days in my place we were having dreadful lighting and thunder during the evenings.
Yesterday I went for a walk down the road when I saw the sky darken because of the rain clouds. I was happy in one way that it would bring down the temperature drastically.
As I felt that rain would slash out in any moment I started to run back home. Gentle cool breeze was skipping through my arms, I enjoyed it much. But later it turned out to a heavy storm opposing my direction of motion.

By the time I was home lighting followed by thunder began. The rain wasn’t heavy at all by the lighting had made it bright and the thunder pierced into my ears.

When both appeared together I must say that the earth was almost rumbling.
All these days I was longing for rain to calm down the temperature but who would ever long for such dreadful rain.

Some how as time passed all of it got over. Then I switched on to the television.
Oh gosh !!! my television got damaged due to those nasty lighting. Then I tried a hand checking the computer. “Thank” god it was safe. Now I have nothing much to do at home.

Today also we had this sort of rain . But before the lighting began all the plugs were removed from their socket for I didn’t want anything more to get damaged.

Hosanna in light

Today as it was hosanna we went to church early than usual time.
I love this day because the church become colorful and beautiful than usual.

Hosanna begins with a ceremonial procession around the church, with people holding the palm leaves and singing hosanna forms the highlight of the day’s ceremony. During this procession the children spread flowers on the way making the ceremony more enchanting.
This procession is done sticking onto the belief of the royal celebration held for Jesus who was moving to Jerusalem on his donkey back.

Usually the hosanna celebration begins at the break of dawn for the children who run to collect the best of flowers from their garden in the hope to spread it in church for the arrival of Jesus.

Palm Sunday is also called Kurutholapperunnal in my place.
We use tender coconut palm leaves for hosanna may be due to its availability in plenty.
I like its bright greenish shade very much.
Have you seen one? Don’t they look fresh and marvelous?

Fun behind Use

Here I have got a video that you would truly enjoy.
It is a bit funny to see but it consists of an enchanting vision of future

The only fact I know about this car is that it uses an old Egyptian technology.
I wonder how people of those days had a great vision like this one for the future
It seems extremely funny but there is a great use hidden behind it…
I must admit that it is very easy to park a car like this one in a crowded place without any second thought . But if though we own a car like this I am sure people will laugh at (including me) without knowing the great use behind or may be knowingly.

I really am doubted now thinking how it does appear funny ?????

What was That ???

Yesterday’s night was a terrible one for me..

At about 4:00 I heard a sound from my backyard.
My mom had kept some old aluminum curtain rods to support the climber plants in the backyard. I recognized the sounds to be of those aluminum rods falling and feared it to be a thief .
I supposed this might have happened due to the thief hurrying to get into our house.!!

Suddenly I called out for my mom. She looked at the time and said it to be 4 am and then no thief would dare to come in cause its going to be morning soon..

But my mind was still alert for the thief and further more sounds. I saw sweet dreams may be in my unconscious mind ,fighting with the thief and handing him to the police ,even winning the award for bravery too.

As I opened my eyes I saw morning in front of me.
Gosh! I saw dreams and slept without being alert of those sounds. What must have happened? Has the thief got into our house??

I ran downstairs and checked for any damage for either the doors. Nop !! Not any. I clamed myself down restlessly. I was much more curious to know what caused that strange sound. Still I could not make myself sure that it was not a thief.

I opened the door and ran to the backyard .With a sudden bump something hit me! Something white.. I could not recognize it at all in my mind which was swelled with all emotions.. I burst out into a yell, not at all loud. Not a bit of sound was coming out due to my dread.!!!!!!!!!

Yea !! “ IT WAS just A CAT” my goodness!! Thank god!!
I could only recognize the cat as it reached half its way. It must have slept there all night !!

See how much fuss a little cat can cause.!!!!!!!!!!!
After some time I burst out of laughter thinking how fearful I am

Flair Bit

Today we bought six new dinning chairs. So nice to talk about it
My mom says that it is made of actual teak wood .Thus it costs much....
It has a woodish shade...I liked its color and style...

I was experimenting each and every part of it and wondering how did the workers join all
Those like a beautiful chair. Exceptionally I liked the work design of its front legs....quite scattered.
The seat cushions looks bulged out, don't they? yea that will change it shape as it gets used up..
At first sitting on the bulged cushion I felt like sitting on the elephants back...that do sound funny.!!.
Any way it looks beautiful in our dinning hall..

Now that new chairs replaced the old ones, the old ones are of not much use and are to be shifted
To somewhere else...??
My mom is very happy about that...and now she can sit properly as the plaster from her leg is removed.

Who will win?

Today as I and my sister were playing badminton a dark grey cloud floated in the air and was above us. IT’S GOING TO RAIN!!!!! We were overjoyed for it had been ages since we saw a grey cloud. So we backed home expecting it to rain any moment. To my surprise I saw the sun slowly peeking out through a chink between the clouds and slowly slowly shadows began to be visible. (Though the sun is not out of those Grey clouds but is in a little gape between.)

OH NO! It’s not going to rain! I expected to make paper boats and hoped to see the puddles fill up again. My sis said that if there is some luck it may rain. Saying this we went back to play badminton but on the way back we saw all the shadows disappearing. The clouds had covered the sun again. We were in great confusion what to do. Alas we decided that we will wait a little and see who wins? As minutes passed by the condition had no change at all. So we left home. Reaching home our eyes met with the sun shining brightly without even a cloud covering it. After all the sun had won breaking all my expectations!

Painful Creativity

Mom’s leg is still plastered!!!!
It will be removed tomorrow…thank god!!! Not much to wait.
Now she has very well adjusted to walk with the fractured leg …even though it seems funny!

To my amazement I found some thing new and creative in my room today as I returned from church, a metal embossed frame. I thought it would have been gifted by someone to my mom! But it was not.
When I asked her about she told that it was made by herself…till this time she hid it from our reach .oh!!! I stood stunted for about a minute... I liked the work so much that I mistook it was bought…
As my mom was not to do any work at home she got bored and started with the metal embossing frame a long time ago…a right choice it was! I believe it to be …

I am very impressed by the way she thinks….she is enjoying every bit of her time at home which is caused due to injury~

Hot HOt HOooo..t

The temperature is very hot in my place.. each day it is rising….
It has reached 34 degree Celsius ...uch it hurts!!!

The summer heat is unbearable especially at school. The whole class room has only one fan that rotates very slow with a crackly sound …my class room is very huge and the ceiling is also at great height, so for those sitting far away from fan no other way than manual fanning with notebooks , text books etc…
Even one of my friends sitting nest to me bought a paper fan for fanning...actually it was a help for lot of us in the class…
I enjoyed all hours at the school viewing all those fanning heavily….
Thank god!! The class room had good ventilation but no hope for a cool breeze….
Dehydration made all in class very thirsty … water bottles all empty except for mine because I carry a huge one….
Quite an experience of quench!!!
I have not experienced such a situation like this ever before in my life…
Temperature is said to rise a lot more in the coming days which would further worsen the situation…
God knows what’s waiting ahead!!

AM I CRYING ??????.....

Today I had to help my mother in making peanut package. I simply had the job of chopping the vegetables for her. I had a tomato, some mint, and an onion. When I finished the tomato and mint I had the onion to chop. In a few minutes my eyes were full of tears. I wiped and wiped but the tears had no end at all. I know, While chopping onions, chewing a chewing gum can prevent tears but were to get a chewing gum from?

The only way was to leave the onions there and wash my eyes but I had kept a bet with my sister that I will chop all the vegetables in 10 minutes. If I leave the onions there, I am sure to loose the challenge. So I kept on chopping the onions.
CRYING CRYING AND CRYING…………………..

Reason behind your tears
when you cut open onions, something called Sulfenic Acid is formed which vaporizes... Now this gas, comes in contact with the moisture in our eyes, and forms a mild Sulphuric Acid, of other things. Hence causes the irritation!!

thanx to Pranav Kumar for this kind information :)

Another Indian to bang an Oscar was Resul Pookutty who got the award for best sound mixing.

Golden Tales !

Today I was overexcited for my father went to buy new fishes for my aquarium .I was impatiently waiting for my father to come back .Just then I went to see the aquarium ready for the fishes to swim, in other words the aquarium was waiting impatiently for the beautiful fishes….

As I was waiting impatiently I heard a horn blowing at my gate. Who could be it?
Oh No! It was my father! Yea!!!!

With curiosity I asked him for the fishes. With a desperate face he told me that the shop was closed so he was not able to buy the fishes. For a moment I hoped it to be a prank on me.

Of course it was….thank god!
He gave me the cover which had two fishes swimming gladly in it. The fishes looked very beautiful and lovely.

Then I made the fishes in to my lovely aquarium. It was very much pleasing to see the fishes
Glide their soft fins in the water….
I sat gazing at them….. may be for hours!!!
